Once you install the app on your phone, if you have room on your apple watch, it should automatically install.

The app requires the phone to start the round and interact with the watch. When you start a round, the phone should automatically kick off the watch app and load the course for you.

However, you can also use the watch standalone for yardages and tracking shots once a round is started.
